Here's one of the flashback video clips the BBF housemates have been shown during the last few days.

http://www.bigbrother.fi/uutinen.shtml?998595

(The actual video clip is at the bottom of the page, above the comments.)

The clip shows Dana and Kätlin in the diary room during Dana's birthday party. Dana is pretty wasted. Kätlin is trying to tell BB her concerns about a dangerous, slippery ice sheet formation on the outside patio - asking advice on what to do about it - but Dana keeps interrupting her.

BBF5, day 86, Wednesday (1). Translation and depicted events based on the "86. päivä" thread and the news articles on the offical BB site.

00:13

Tuija comes out of the diary room, crying. The housemates ask her what has happened. Nothing, says Tuija sobbing. She then goes by her storage box and starts rummaging through the things in it.

Esa: Do you want to be alone or in company?
Tuija: It doesn't matter to me. What anyone wants.

Kätlin asks whether she would like a group hug. No answer, but Kätlin, Dana, and Stephania hug her anyway.

Tuija: Thanks but I'm all OK.

Dana tries to ask more but Stephania thinks Tuija can't talk about it as it is a diary room matter. Kätlin says Tuija can always talk to them about it if she needs to. Tuija says she's OK, still sobbing. She then says she is going to go to the bathroom and then to the bed.

Toni and Aso have a smoke outside and ponder about all this. They think Tuija might just have missed people from the outside world. Perhaps re-entering the house was an emotional shock for her. Aso doesn't think it's anything serious.

Instead of going straight to bed Tuija sits in the company of Antti and Esa who are in the living room. Antti asks if the matter is really so that she can't talk about it. Tuija confirms that she's not allowed to talk about it.

Some time later Tuija says she's going to bed.

Tuija: (to Esa) Esku, I'm going to give you a hug now.
Esa: Okay...

They hug. Tuija is about to go to the bathroom when she decides to hug Esa once again.

Tuija: Esku is my pal, yay.

Still pictures of these events:
http://www.bigbrother.fi/uutinen.shtml?999074

00:34

Lights go out in the bedroom.

09:04

BB: Good morning, housemates! Hot water is now available in the bathroom.

The housemates are a bit exhausted. It had been too hot in the bedroom last night. Not many of them got a good night's sleep.

The shower business is also not going too well this morning. The girls - especially Stephania - consumed nearly all of the alloted "hot water" time. Aso and Toni need to use the reserve of hot water they keep in the bathtub.

Still pictures:
http://www.bigbrother.fi/uutinen.shtml?999120

At the breakfast table, Kätlin tells she had a dream which featured housemates both from Big Brother Finland and from the Pinoy Big Brother.

10:15

Tuija comes out of the diary room. She says the bed needs to be made immediately. Because Sampo and Dana are lying on it, it's their job.

The former slum wall needs a third coat of paint so the housemates are required to continue the paint job they began yesterday. Tuija is again doing nothing, just serving as the "" "foreman" supervising this activity.

Still pictures:
http://www.bigbrother.fi/uutinen.shtml?999175

10:47

The paint job is not yet finished but the housemates already receive a new day task. They need to bake a gingerbread house. (This is a popular Christmas decoration, in Finland, at least. And it's edible, too.) Five of the housemates will continue painting as four of them will take up baking.

Still pictures:
http://www.bigbrother.fi/uutinen.shtml?999206

11:50

The paint job is done. It's only needs final inspection. The inspection is done by Tuija the foreman, of course.

Still pictures:
http://www.bigbrother.fi/uutinen.shtml?999251

Antti and Esa get compliments on their work. Tuija even hugs Esa again. But Aso only gets stern words and commands.

(During her diary room sessions Tuija is constantly referring to the other housemates as "them", talking about "their" ways, and generally speaking in such way that gives an impression of her being a total outsider in the house. She has clearly taken up the role of being an infiltrator who is only there to cause discord among the housemates and so does not see herself as one of them anymore. It has not been revealed what supposedly happened during her diary room session last night but the tears she shed were probably not real either; it was just a trick to confuse the other housemates.)

12:13

The TV is on and the housemates are being shown a new video clip. This one is about Aso. On the video, Aso sits in the diary room telling how tough guy he is; a real macho man. This is followed by some other scenes where Aso is powdering his face and having his eyebrows plucked. In the last part, he's even wearing a bra. The video ends.

The housemates burst into laughter and cheers. Aso laughs himself too, embarrassed.

Aso: Oh fuck!
Aso: What are you laughing about!

Aso complains the house has jammed the "radar" he uses to guide his behavior.

Still pictures and video:
http://www.bigbrother.fi/uutinen.shtml?999275

They are also shown another clip, shot during the "well-being week". On this clip, Stephania leans back and giggles uncontrollably to the sight of exercising Toni and his buttocks.

Still pictures and video:
http://www.bigbrother.fi/uutinen.shtml?999313

14:04

Kätlin, Antti, Esa, and Tuija are making the gingerbread house and discussing in the kitchen.

Kätlin says the clips they have seen this far have been more amusing than bothersome. Although she thinks she could have curbed her own behavior when she was seen on one of the clips making fun of Aso's and Toni's femininity. She doesn't want to be mean to anyone. Kätlin does wonder, though, how some relatively small things had apparently been so big topics of discussion in the house and how they had been discussed among different cliques - especially among the women of the house.

The next thing being discussed are the shower scenes. Kätlin is glad they didn't really show full frontal views of her naked in any of the clips seen this far. She doesn't want Aso or Toni to see her that way. Tuija asks her why Aso and Toni, specifically. Out of principle, because they're such juvenile peeping Toms.

Antti asks Kätlin if it bothers her that people can possibly watch her in the shower in the outside world, and even repeatedly on the Internet. But Kätlin does not think they have that kind of material available. She has a firm (but somewhat naïve) belief the normal shower visits are not shown to the public. She thinks they will only show the bathroom to the public if there has been something particularly interesting or noteworthy going on in there.

Tuija and Antti know better and they have trouble keeping a straight face. But they can't really talk this matter through with Kätlin as they are not allowed to discuss what they might actually know about the things that may or may not have been seen in the outside world either this season or during some other season.

Kätlin says she doesn't get who would even bother watching someone taking a shower. Tuija says let those people watch if they have nothing better to do with their life.

The gingerbread house is now finished and the housemates go the the diary room to show it to the BB. Apparently the task was a part of M&M's sponsorship deal with BBF as the house was decorated with the M&M's candy in a rather tacky way.

Still pictures:
http://www.bigbrother.fi/uutinen.shtml?999389
http://www.bigbrother.fi/uutinen.shtml?999430

14:48

The housemates are ordered to go outside. As always, the remote-controlled curtain closes to block their view inside the house. They wonder about a light fixture on the patio which keeps flickering on and off. The curtain then opens and the housemates are let back inside. The curtain closes again behind their back, this time blocking the view to the outside.

16:00

Tuija comes out of the diary room carrying another can of paint and some paintbrushes. The housemates need to paint the slum patio door and the slum bedroom door doorframes white too. The insides of the slum bedroom are to be left as they are, though.

Although the housemates do not know that yet, apparently all this painting and undoing of the "slum" is in preparation for the real wedding that will be arranged in the BB house on the coming Saturday.

It has not been revealed what supposedly happened during her diary room session last night but the tears she shed were probably not real either; it was just a trick to confuse the other housemates.)
OK, I take that last part back. They showed Tuija's teary diary room session in today's daily. She was genuinely crying because she now sees how tightly-knit little society the current housemates have become and she feels so much like an outsider in that company - not just by her own choice, being a fake housemate, but otherwise too. She also questions whether she is a bad person for trying to cheat and confuse them.

While sobbing and wiping her tears in the diary room she was also saying it was actually a good thing she was evicted after only four weeks. She says she wouldn't have had it what it takes to mentally endure living in the house as long as the other housemates already have.

Interestingly, they also showed a diary room session with Esa. He was asked who he thinks Tuija will choose as the one who gets the (non-existent) free pass to the final. He said it appears to be him, because of Tuija's warm behavior, but he doesn't like the way things are going. He said that Tuija seems to specifically cling onto him and seek his company even if he tries to keep distance. He finds that awkward. In Esa's opinion, there should not be a free pass to the final for anyone.

There was a diary room session with Toni, too. He was asked the same question. He, too, predicted that the free pass to final will go to Esa, again based on Tuija's behavior towards Esa.

Even more interestingly, some people have apparently seen a discussion on 24/7 where Tuija accidentally slips to Esa that she's only going to be there for a week. Tuija said something to the effect of "not being the one who just cleans the house for a week and then leaves". (They were discussing how all housemates will have to take part in cleaning the house, I believe.) Esa just smiled but didn't ask any questions. So it just might be possible that Esa now knows - or at least strongly suspects - that Tuija will not be in the final herself.

As the viewers know, the free pass to the final does not exist. Tuija can pretend giving one but there is no such thing. Instead, there will be a mass eviction next Sunday. All housemates are up for eviction and four of them will have to leave the house. They are required to give their nominations the normal way on Thursday but the points they award to each other are meaningless and simply ignored.

BBF5, day 86, Wednesday (2). Translation and depicted events based on the "86. päivä" thread and the news articles on the offical BB site.

16:24

The curtain is still down but there's music in the air. Aso and Kätlin dance to it in their painter's overalls. Sampo thinks it might be a sound check. Someone quips it might be Sami with his band.

16:50

Dana is called to the diary room. She comes back almost immediately. They need to collect the painting tools and supplies and take them back to the storage room. The housemates are wondering about this order because the job is still not finished. Dana tries to go back to the diary room to ask more detailed instructions but she is not let in. The housemates succumb to BB's will and do what was ordered.

17:02

Music is being played again. The song is "Rock Around The Clock". The curtain goes up. The housemates start screaming and dancing as they see a band in the yard. The band introduces themselves as "The Baseballs". They tell the housemates they play rock'n'roll. They get on with it. The first song is "Umbrella". The next one is "Hot N' Cold".

17:11

The band stops playing. Dana asks them where they're from. "Germany", they say. They play yet another song.

17:14

BB: Go inside.
Housemates: Thank you! Bye bye! Nice to meet you!

The curtain goes down and blocks the view to the yard. Everyone thinks it was a great gig and the band sang well. Sampo thinks they must have been touring in Finland.

Housemates some time before the gig:
http://www.bigbrother.fi/uutinen.shtml?999506

A video clip of the gig:
http://www.bigbrother.fi/uutinen.shtml?999552

Some pictures of the band:
http://www.bigbrother.fi/uutinen.shtml?999522

(In the above article the band states that Big Brother is a really big thing in Germany, and they have played a gig in the final of one of the seasons. They crack a joke that the Big Brother Finland housemates are going to be their best audience ever as they can't escape them.)

17:42

The housemates are sitting around the kitchen table. Tuija starts talking about the cleanliness of the house. She complains they should all clean together as it is so messy and untidy. She has already told them about that once before and would not want to keep repeating herself. Esa agrees with her but tells her not to stress about it. Sampo thinks it has been cleaner this week than before.

Aso wants to have a party. Tuija says he has not deserved one.

Tuija also reminds the others that the painting task is not yet over. She says she doesn't want to be bossy about these things but... well, that's just the bitch she is.

17:52

The housemates have cleaned the kitchen. The curtain goes up and the yard is empty again. The housemates are hoping they would get a party.

17:54

Toni comes out of the diary room. The storage room is open, and there are four alcoholic drinks for everyone. Esa A gets soft drinks.

17:59

Music is played over the PA system. The song they hear is "I don't feel like dancing" by Scissor Sisters, covered by The Baseballs.

The housemates, except for Kätlin and Esa, start playing a drinking game called "Rush Hour". Kätlin says she doesn't want to drink that fast, so she's not in the game.

18:14

Kätlin opens up to Tuija about her relationship with Dana. She noticed in the slum that she can't get too close to Dana, for some reason. She wanted to, but Dana just somehow kept a distance. Kätlin noticed that, of course. She thought "Okay, whatever." But she didn't think there would be any back-stabbing going on because she did not have any reason for that herself. She only found out about that later as another housemate told her.

At this point Tuija interrupts Kätlin and asks her who told her about it and what. Kätlin says it was Ragnar. They were both up for eviction and it was a day before Ragnar was evicted. Tuija asks what Ragnar actually told. Kätlin says Ragnar didn't tell her names but he said he had been standing right there beside the persons who were talking shit about her.

Dana is still very close to Kätlin. Kätlin stumbles for words for a moment, then says it doesn't feel good, of course. It is always nice to hear something positive, and she can take criticism, too. She just can't help it if some of her characteristics irritate others. She knows that some people get irritated about her explaining too much, dressing up, using make-up, interrupting people while speaking and enjoying getting some attention. They have talked about those things with Dana so many times already. Kätlin just thought she would let the bygones be bygones. There's no need to stress over it. Kätlin smiles and says it was of course weird to see on the TV screen what had been said behind her back. But the actual matters that were talked about were so insignificant, in the end. It is similar to the girlie talk in the lower grades in school. She would rather let it be.

Kätlin says at times she felt really lonely and like an outsider. But then she found Sami. She still wanted to get friends from the girls too. Girls always want to have female friends as well. Then she and Dana became friends. Kätlin recalls it was Lotta before that. They were able to speak the matters through on the same side of the slum/paradise division. Kätlin wanted to get to know her better so much. Now she's happy and she has been enjoying her company a lot.

But naturally, if someone says something negative about yourself, it feels bad. And she knew something about the things that were said about her. Kätlin shrugs and says she always tries to think positively. They have been saying that she does not get far that way. But here she still is, and she has been herself all the time, right from the beginning.

Tuija says everyone should be themselves. And that's why the other housemates are still in the house too. Not that Tuija wouldn't be herself, even though she got evicted. She was herself all the time.

Kätlin starts reminiscing about the good and bad times in the BB house. She has gone to bed several times without showing anyone she was crying. She shed a couple of tears but pulled her beanie over her eyes to hide it. Then she woke up to a new morning feeling cheerful again. She has cried especially when she has been missing her home, family and friends. That is her weakness. But now she knows there's not much longer left. Kätlin shakes her head and tries to find the right words to describe just what kind of an experience her living in the BB house has been, as a whole. If you get to experience something like this, it is a good thing - and yet it's only a short stretch of time compared to your entire life.

Kätlin has had lots of happy moments in the house. Living in the slum was depressing, though, even though the tasks weren't too hard. But at nights, when she tried to sleep and couldn't, she started thinking all kinds of things.

At this point, Tuija yawns. Kätlin starts laughing. So that's how interesting company she is. Tuija assures her that it isn't about that and sums up that the slum was fun in the end. Kätlin says it was... an experience. Of course, who wouldn't want to eat good food, sleep in a proper bed and take warm showers. Tuija agrees. Kätlin says she did not get depressed in there. She just took it all with good humor. She knew it was the BB house, after all. They don't let you die in the house and you can always quit if you can't take it.

Kätlin wraps it up by saying she has gained lots of experience, friends and everything she could never have got any other way. Tuija can imagine that being true.

The discussion ends as BB starts playing music over the PA system. Kätlin asks Tuija to dance with her.

18:25

After the song is over, BB orders the housemates to the sofa again. Esa makes a guess that this is where the "party" really kicks in.

The screen lits up, and the housemates see drunken Dana explaining something to Sami in the bathroom. (The real Dana backs away on the sofa and puts her hand on her forehead.) The Dana on the video says: "My character is such that I can't prance around and push my ass like that. I'm not any kind of prancer, really, you know. That's Kätlin's role." (Kätlin looks confused but starts laughing.) The Sami on the video says Dana is his girl and she knows it. She is Sami's boy too. The Dana on the video repeats she's not a prancer, and she doesn't want to be one. Sami says he knows she's not. Dana grabs a hold of Sami's head and says she believes Sami cared about Saranna more than he ever cared for Kätlin. Sami says he truly did, yeah. Dana tells Sami to never come back for Kätlin, because that way he will just hurt Saranna. Sami definitely won't. Dana assures that Saranna is the one Sami wants. She also suggests Sami has showed signs of wanting to get back to Kätlin. Sami denies this and tries to the best of his ability to convince Dana he definitely won't come back to Kätlin. Dana asks him to make a promise. Sami says he will only regard Kätlin as a friend, nothing more. Dana says it's hard to be just friends with someone who has that kind of ass. The video ends there.

The Duo Horrible cheers "Go Sami!". Giggling Dana fans the air with her hands. Dana explains she was just trying to defend Saranna. Kätlin says she noticed when Dana went to the bathroom with Sami on the SingStar night. Dana asks if it was that night and the others assured her it was. Dana says she can't fucking remember anything. She thought that was the night when the new housemates moved in. Stephania says the video was shot last Friday.

Dana: But there was nothing bad in that!

Kätlin notes that Saranna had left by then already. Dana says the whole discussion is only about Saranna and Sami. Nothing bad about it.

Kätlin wags her finger at Dana in mock anger and says "That was so bad, Dana! Naughty, naughty!"

Dana: Naughty naughty. I was fucking wasted.

The other housemates are already continuing their drinking came. Dana is still telling Kätlin that Sami called her a prancer. Kätlin says it's nothing. She uses that word herself.

Dana: But you could make out what I said on the video?

Kätlin: Perhaps it was a sign, Dana, that you shouldn't drink that much tonight.

Dana downs her shot.

Pictures and a video:
http://www.bigbrother.fi/uutinen.shtml?999598

19:14

Duo Horrible and Dana are smoking outside. Kätlin is there too. They're talking about Kätlin and Sami.

19:18

The housemates are called in front of the TV again. A new video clip follows. On this clip, Dana, Jelena and Nino theorize that Kätlin is only trying to make them fat with the food she makes. Their reasoning is that Kätlin has gained some weight herself and that's why she's trying to do it to them, too. The video ends.

Dana doesn't even giggle anymore, just keeps watching the video with a straight face.

Kätlin parrots the lines on the video, laughing.

Dana: Fuck! It's all the same to me. Bygones are bygones.

Kätlin says it's just like little girls at school.

Dana: Babe, you got angry or not?

Kätlin says she can't get angry over something like that. It's rather hilarious in fact. So much talk about so insignificant things. Dana says that everyone talks about the small things. You see them and they irritate you and you talk about them.

Dana: Whether you got mad or not you're still dear to me right now.

Kätlin repeats she's definitely not mad at Dana. Dana explains once again how she at first didn't like Kätlin and doesn't deny that. But now she doesn't think like that at all. Kätlin says she is cool with all that.

BBF5, day 86, Wednesday (3). Translation and depicted events based on the "86. päivä" thread and the news articles on the offical BB site.

19:43

Dana and Kätlin are in the bathroom. Dana explains to Kätlin how they were playing "truth or dare" in the jacuzzi while Kätlin was in the Philippines. Dana had to tell the others who she's going to nominate next. She said she would have given two points to Antti because she has not get acquainted with him, and one point to Kätlin because of the the argument she had with her during the Jungle Party. She was disappointed in herself, and in Kätlin too, because Kätlin had misunderstood her. Dana wants to tell this in advance in case they will show that as a flashback video clip too.

20:10

Another video. This one is from the last Sunday's eviction, showing how Sami leaves the house and Aso and Toni cry for his departure. The next scene is from the diary room where Aso is giving his emotional statement about Sami's eviction, telling how they "took away a piece of his heart". The last scene is from the yard where Aso is smoking and crying with Toni. The video ends there.

Aso is nearly in tears again. Toni and Kätlin are looking sad too. Toni says he wouldn't have wanted to see this. The TV goes black again.

Someone asks what that was all about. Kätlin thinks it is because they want to show their sensitive side. Kätlin thinks Toni looks different on the video than in real life. Kätlin ponders that the guys were close to each other. She could expect that reaction from Aso, but Toni was a bit of a surprise. In any case, Sami is still alive and partying out there; they will be seeing him soon.

Kätlin and Aso sit on the sofa for a while after the other housemates have already left. Kätlin says it is a great thing that Aso can display his feelings. Aso says it's great that all this will soon be over. He doesn't want to quit now but if this had happened halfway into the season he surely would have.

20:19

Kätlin keeps munching some snacks in the living room. She tells Esa that she usually munches lots of snacks when drunk.

Kätlin: I was thinking today getting drunk would be fun. (Pause) Don't take me wrong.
Esa: OK. I'll try to take you right.
Kätlin: You're funny, Esa.
Esa: Occasionally.

20:23

Aso starts suddenly yelling it has all "clicked" now for him. Aso tells the others that Esa knew Tuija would be back because Esa was talking with her on the phone. Dana connects the dots and completes the speculation by stating that Tuija must be Esa's girlfriend. They all start shouting that that's just the way how it must be. Esa is just grinning silently.

Aso: I'm a fucking genius. Why don't I get myself elected to the parliament?

20:26

The speculation continues. Aso had been saying some pervy things about Tuija and Esa had immediately reprimanded him about it. Esa, on the other hand, has been in close relations with Tuija.

Kätlin: So you're a couple now, huh? You must have met at some store in Riihimäki. (Tuija is a cashier and lives in Riihimäki.)
Sampo: So that's why Esa hasn't revealed anything about his girlfriend.
Dana: Yeah, because it's Tuija.
Tuija starts hugging Esa.
Tuija: (To Esa) Now we can freely go over there and romp a bit, Esa.
Aso: Dana! Did you see that!
Aso thinks it's no use faking it any longer.
Esa: (Laughing) OK, I think we've taken this far enough already...
Aso: Tuija is drunk now, so it is possible to get some from her. Tuija, you can't get anything from Esa! If you're not Esa's girlfriend you will spoon with me tonight.
Tuija laughs and says she's certainly not going to do any spooning with Aso.
Aso: So you are Esa's girlfriend, dammit!

Pictures and a video:

20:35

Tuija is planning to go to the diary room to ask for more drinks for the housemates. She isn't going to ask more for herself, though, because she's already drunk. She's a bit perplexed and says she can usually drink tequila just like that but now she's already wasted after having consumed only three ciders. The BB house affects your tolerance in some crazy way. But because the others are not yet drunk, she's going to ask some more for them, as a Head of Household. Kätlin says that's right, they're certainly not drunk yet. Tuija - being the infiltrator she is - thinks the discussions could get more lively after that.

20:58

The housemates have been shown another video. The first part of it was about Sampo speaking behind Toni's back. He was claiming Toni is "desperately" trying to make an impression on Saranna by wearing Sami's jacket. Saranna and Aso were seen nodding on the background. The second part showed Dana crying about Toni's behavior and Marko trying to comfort her.

Toni is angry and denies having had any such intention. He wants to make it very clear to everyone he didn't. He's also angry at Aso, who seemed to agree with the allegation on the video, but they soon make it up.

Sampo, Dana, and Kätlin go outside. Sampo is getting irritated about these videos. He was worried about Toni taking it all seriously.

Sampo thinks these videos are only shown because they create greater potential for fights.

He marches in to face Toni and discuss with him about it, but Toni says it is impossible to get him agitated over that kind of thing. The only thing that makes him angry is if they take his cigarettes away.

Stills and video clip:
http://www.bigbrother.fi/uutinen.shtml?999669

21:32

Aso and Tuija are having a fight over cleaning the toilet seat. Tuija says Aso has peed on the ring and he needs to clean it up. After various events Aso is finally forced to do that... and he's also forced to wash his hands.

21:29

Dana and Sampo are outside. Sampo is still irked at the videos they've shown about him. They both agree that the housemates have been shown only videos that reflect the two of them in bad light. Kätlin, on the other hand, has been lifted on a pedestal. Dana is speculating that perhaps the outside world hasn't even seen those videos before. Maybe they're only showing them now, when the final and conclusive voting is about to begin. Some housemates are apparently selected in the role of baddies and some others are shown as goody-goodies.

Sampo is already threatening to leave voluntarily so they can't show such clips about him anymore. They also discuss that the production team can create a skewed impression about them on purpose. They can cut things in such way that makes things appear nasty or suspicious.

Sampo says there's no use being in the house if they've just decided over some coffee-table discussion who will be represented as a baddie and who as a goodie.

Stephania comes out in the yard and asks what's up. Sampo says that it's a public discussion: everyone can come and listen if they will. Dana says they could both walk out of the house even right now if they wanted to.

21:35

Music is being played over the PA system.

21:39

The housemates are called to see another video. Dana is panicking already. Aso offers his apologies in advance in case if he has said something bad about someone. He can't bother setting it straight tonight. Toni says it's the same for him.

The video begins. It shows Sampo, Aso, and Sami. They are irritated about Dana's habit of singing or shouting or laughing in the middle of the night, when people are asleep. Aso thinks she should have a better consideration for the others. Sami has been irritated about Dana too. The video ends there.

Stephania starts explaining about the video to Dana but Dana says they've already gone through this.

Toni makes a wish for more drinks and a proper fight over the videos.

Dana shouts to the BB that she's a tougher case than they think and they can just "bring it on" if they want.

The housemates are trying to get into the diary room for the purpose of asking more to drink, but they are never let in there. Tuija announces they will go to bed if there are no more drinks available.

21:56

Dana comes to the kitchen. Esa asks her how she feels. She's OK. She's a bit irritated though.

21:57

Aso, Toni and Kätlin are playing a strangely juvenile "try and catch me" game. They're running around the house and romping on the bed like little kids.

21:56

Dana is in the bathroom with Tuija. She tells her the same things she was discussing with Sampo earlier in the yard. Dana wonders if they have decided in over-the-coffee-table discussion in which light they will be showing each of the various housemates. Dana ponders if she should have acted or played someone else than herself, or not talk about anything, just being a nice girl. Dana says that if she has an opinion, she will say it aloud. Dana also says she has never once been up for eviction by the other housemates nominating her. The other housemates have seen the real Dana but the viewers will easily see only the bad sides of her.

Sampo enters the bathroom too. The discussion continues.

22:22

The juvenile rampage and romping goes on in the bedroom. Aso and Toni are now practically wrestling with Kätlin and Dana. Antti and Steffi come to rescue the girls and calm down the ridiculous situation. BB himself cuts it short by calling Dana to the diary room.

23:38

Lights out. Some of the housemates are still rather restless but eventually they calm down. Even Aso and Toni announce they're going to get some sleep now.

This is funny! Thanks again for the recaps and links to videos. Im missing the FBB housemates. I see that some girls are noticing how sexy Esa really is 8).

In PBB, the winner for the Toy Factory challenge is not announced yet. Cathy stood out against Hermes during a mock toy debate. They needed to sell a particular toy in a game of wit. Cathy seemed to have a natural gift for being snarky if the occasion calls for it. IMO Hermes got owned. Right now, the house A girls are practicing their cheer/ dance for the boys' basketball game.

Some random things that probably haven't been mentioned here yet.

----

The fact you probably didn't know about the call Esa received from his girlfriend: people were amused when they first heard his girlfriend talking.

Esa can speak in a natural way whenever it's a normal, fast-paced and lively conversation: one where he doesn't have much time to react or think about his lines. But when he does have that time, he has a habit of falling back into this trademark style of communication. That style can only be described as being a bit stilted. Esa crafts these complex, complete thoughts and sentences in his mind and peppers them up with fancy scholarly words. When he finally utters those well-prepared lines, he enunciates the words without using the common contractions or other lazy colloquial-language sloppiness you would normally expect to hear in casual speech. So those well-prepared, well-enunciated sentences sound much like Esa would have read them straight out of a book instead of speaking naturally and spontaneously.

He has received constant criticism about this little peculiarity of his speech here in the outside world, among the viewers, because it just annoys some people so much. (Especially those who are themselves streetwise and abhor everything Esa supposedly "represents". They tend to find it unnatural and pretentious.)

Well, guess what? When Esa received his diary room call - the one that made him so emotional - his girlfriend was heard talking on the phone in the exact same way as he does... So there are two of them!

As some people have commented on this board, it's a match made in heaven.

-----

Another Esa fact: He has at one point stated he is more of a "tits man" than a "butt man"... and also that he would prefer his women to have larger boobs than he sports himself. (I think this must have been something Antti has asked him at one point.) This pretty much rules out the idea of Tuija being Esa's girlfriend, as amusing a twist it would be.

The housemates were actually later seen debunking Aso's "click" theory based on just that...

----

Yesterday there was this Dana - Esa interaction in the yard. It was shown in the daily compilation (or at least I think that was where I saw it) but not mentioned elsewhere. So I'll include it here now. This is all from memory so the details can be a bit off, but bear with me:

Dana was seen walking in the slum yard, smoking and talking to Steffi or Sampo. She said she badly needs to get some release when she gets back to Tampere - the city where she lives. It's soon three months since she last had some action. Her friends must arrange it if it's not going to happen otherwise. She was also concerned about being hard to "market" to anyone. She said something like "Who wants to be with a boozing Chinese-looking girl, anyway", in a sarcastic, belittling tone.

Esa overheard this discussion from the patio deck where he was flexing his muscles, and he offered his help with crafting a personal ad. It went something like this: "A young, beautiful Asian girl with awesome long hair and great body wants to meet..."

Dana: Esaa! So you think I have a great body? That's the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me. No-one has ever told that to me...

(When compared to some other countries, there are not too many Asians in Finland. And there are even less of those that fit in the same box as Dana: looking Asian but speaking perfect Finnish and having a Finnish cultural identity. I would hazard a guess Dana probably has a problem of often being mistaken for a Chinese graduate student - since those are probably the largest group of Asians in Finland - or for a member of some other ethnically Asian group which generally doesn't know the local language or culture too well and doesn't interact or mingle much with the ethnic Finns.)

-----

Esa has really been opening up and relaxing a lot towards the end of the last week and especially during the last few days. He now hangs out more with the other housemates, cracks jokes, etc. It's difficult to say what has caused this change, exactly, but there are probably many factors at work. The call from his girlfriend and Sami's departure probably played the biggest parts in it, and perhaps his bonding with the sobbing Dana at the party had some effect too. He also managed to clear the threat of eviction even though he had been acting dull (on purpose) earlier during the week. This was his little "tactical test" as the Big Brother wanted to put it. Perhaps passing the "test" gave him some confidence about his popularity in the outside world too. In any case, it is now quite different Esa than how he was seen earlier.

----

Before I forget, I think I never reported these two Wednesday night events, either:

1. At one point during Wednesday night, Aso was reprimanding Dana in the slum yard for what she had said on those videos about Kätlin. There are actually two official articles about this on the official BBF site; one with a video:

http://www.bigbrother.fi/uutinen.shtml?999754
http://www.bigbrother.fi/uutinen.shtml?999615

Transcript of the video and the second article (the full discussion is not available for free so this is a condensed version):

Aso and Toni are standing in the slum yard, smoking:

Aso: That darn Dana. (Pause) She's always so brash; always getting the action going.
Toni: What do you mean?
Aso: Those videos.
Toni breathes out a puff of smoke.
Aso: Don't get me wrong, I really like Dana. But those videos are a bit... (Pause) Oh, now she's coming here. If Kätlin doesn't follow her, I'm going to tell Dana this one thing I have on my mind.
Toni: Yeah.

Dana: So what's the matter?
Aso: Kätlin seems to be coming here...
Dana: No she's not.
Aso: Yeah, well every video they showed us... you're on them all, talking about Kätlin.
Dana: (Pause) But on that last one I was only defending her, really.
Aso: No you weren't, you know that yourself.
Dana: I was too. I was saying Sami shouldn't touch Kätlin when he's with Saranna. I was protecting them both. I didn't want Saranna or anyone else to get hurt.

Kätlin enters the yard.

Aso: Kätlin, did you feel hurt by that last video they showed?
Kätlin: No, there was nothing bad about it.

Dana doesn't know why that video had been taken so seriously even though her motivations had only been good: she didn't want Sami's actions to hurt anyone's feelings. The debate goes on and Toni says these videos definitely shouldn't be taken so seriously. In the end, Kätlin needs to explain herself to Aso too:

Kätlin: I didn't want anything from Sami, but once Saranna was evicted, we became closer with Sami again, and I don't know why that was.

The discussion ends when they're called to see another video.

2. Later in the evening Dana and Kätlin were seen in the bathroom. Dana was apologizing for what she had said about Kätlin again, but she was already drunk at that point:

Dana's apologies to Kätlin:

Re: Housemate swap between BB Finland 5 and Pinoy BB 3

Viesti Kirjoittaja BrutalGentleman » 19 Marras 2009 17:41

BBF5, day 87, Thursday (1). Translation and depicted events based on the "87. päivä" thread and the news articles on the offical BB site.

09:26

Wake-up call for the housemates. The men take their showers first this morning. Dana seems to be missing from the bedroom.

09:28

Dana enters the bedroom carrying her duvet with her. She had apparently been sleeping on the sofa. The bedroom had been too hot for her. The others think it has been hot too. Sampo has been having weird dreams, Kätlin has been turning around and changing her position all the night.

09:33

Esa is doing the dishes in the kitchen and Toni is making some coffee.

Toni: How it hangs?
Esa: On the left side.
Toni: That's good to hear.
Esa: Situation has returned to normal. Alert level back to green.

09:40

Aso is trying to find his socks. He laments that today is the judgment day. Dana, Sampo and Steffi are lying on the bed. They say they've just talked about it. Tuija will select Esa for the final and the others will nominate publicly on the sofa. It would be so much nicer if everyone was automatically up for eviction. Stephania thinks the nominations will be done the normal way in the diary room but they will be shown on the TV later.

Dana: Fuck if I care. This is the last or the second-to-last week. It doesn't matter.

Toni gives a laugh at the clearly pissed-off Dana. Toni can't even be bothered to think about the whole matter.

Aso is sure he will be leaving on Sunday.

Pictures:
http://www.bigbrother.fi/uutinen.shtml?999934

10:08

Esa sits at the breakfast table and ponders that today they will apparently have some kind of a selection. Tuija smirks and says "Possibly so."

10:19

The Duo Horrible is outside discussing the passage of time. Toni asks whether Aso thinks that this week has gone fast. Aso says yes. Tomorrow it will be Friday, the day after that Saturday and then it's "Adios!"

10:22

Toni wonders if Tuija will choose Esa today. Aso is pretty sure about that, Toni also. Thursday has been the day they have traditionally chosen the Head of Household who has the immunity. Toni doesn't think Tuija's choice could be anyone else than Esa. Aso thinks it could be Toni. Toni gives a laugh about that, but Aso says Tuija knows how popular they are in the outside world, and perhaps Esa is going to get to the final anyway. Tuija is a smart woman. Aso thinks she can also choose someone who is no match to her in the final. Toni agrees with this. Aso thinks if she does not see her prospects being too good she will surely want Esa to win.

Toni thinks Tuija is in the house because she wants to win herself. In that case, it would be stupid to pick someone who is likely to beat her. But it's all the same to Toni because he's not going to the final. Aso wants to live a day at a time.

Toni thinks Tuija could pick Aso just as well. Aso says that is one thing he doesn't want to happen. Of course he's interested in a place in the final but if he were to get that far he wants to get his ticket to final the fair way and not by someone just picking him.

Pictures:
http://www.bigbrother.fi/uutinen.shtml?999973

10:35

Kätlin tells the others about her dreams. In one of them, she was in a hospital. There were lots of beds and in one of them she saw Tuija. Tuija was given intravenous therapy because she had had a horrible case of diarrhea. Her head was all bandaged and only her face was visible. Antti asks why Kätlin was there. Kätlin doesn't know. She was in a wheelchair herself.

10:56

Esa is planning to go outside to do his jogging laps.

Sampo: How's it going, Esa?
Esa: Life is beginning to prevail, the sun is shining and... the birds... well, can't really see any birds but I can imagine then.
Sampo: Have you gone through some hard times, then, if life is only now beginning to prevail?
Esa: (Referring to the call he received in the diary room from his girlfriend:) If you ever see the video clip from last Saturday and the discussion thereafter, you'll maybe understand.

Pictures:
http://www.bigbrother.fi/uutinen.shtml?1000044

11:43

Tuija and Dana are still in front of mirror, doing their hair and finishing their make-up. Kätlin and Steffi are lying on the bed. Dana begins to ponder that Tuija is surely on some sort of a secret mission. Tuija tries to pretend to the best of her ability she isn't. What kind of a secret mission would that be, anyway. Dana says Tuija needs to play somebody else than she actually is. Tuija doesn't comment anything, so the discussion moves back to the make-up.

11:46

Kätlin yawns and says she's really tired. She didn't sleep well and she can tell she has been drinking last night. Stephania thinks this has been the nicest week this far. She can't tell the reason for that. It just is, somehow. They had been talking with Dana and Sampo that everyone might be up for eviction this time. Except for Tuija and the one she will select. Kätlin agrees. Stephania wouldn't want to give any nomination points to anyone any longer.

12:26

Toni and Aso are smoking outside. Antti is also there, but he doesn't smoke. Toni states again they can very well be all gone in three days. Aso is afraid to go outside. Toni too. Antti thinks it would be quite bad if someone were to faint in the talk show studio. Toni says who knows that won't happen.

Aso says he doesn't know if they stopped showing the flashback video clips already but some of the housemates had it really easy and some others less so. Antti says they never showed anything about him. Aso thinks it is good to be aware of at least some of the material that has been shown in the outside world. Antti thinks the housemates are getting well along even after all these videos. Toni says he hasn't seen any proper fighting in the house at all, really. Antti thinks it is futile to try and induce fights on purpose as it is just not going to work. Aso just hopes it's a fair game for everyone. Antti too.

Pictures:
http://www.bigbrother.fi/uutinen.shtml?1000137

12:43

Back inside the house. Tuija begins fantasizing about getting access in the upstairs bedroom suite. Aso says he wants to come there too. Tuija says she's definitely not going to take Aso there with her, for his dirty socks alone. Esa thinks some smallish housemate would be good company as the bed is quite small. Stephania would be good, for example.

12:46

Aso says he and Tuija can sleep in the spooning position. Tuija yells she's certainly not going to take Aso in the suite. For one, Aso has so dirty socks, and so arrogant attitude that he thinks he's going to "get some" just like that. Aso is not her kind of a man, not in the slightest. Aso wants more information on that and Tuija shouts he just isn't. She doesn't like men who spend more time looking at themselves in the mirror than herself. Aso does not match Tuija's taste in men in any way and surely Tuija isn't Aso's type either. Aso confirms that that is the case. Tuija bawls out what the hell is Aso then asking all the time about that god damn "spooning" thing. Aso has just wanted to test how much of a perv Tuija really is. Tuija says she's not a perv and wouldn't sleep in the spoon position with Aso even if he paid her. Aso quips that someone has then apparently paid Tuija before.

12:48

Tuija says he wouldn't spoon with anyone else from this house than Sampo and Esa. Toni yelps what's wrong with him, then! Aso wants to know the same about himself. Tuija says she just doesn't want to, their hands could wander into all the wrong places. Aso asks what's wrong with Antti. Tuija doesn't see anything wrong with Antti but she still wouldn't sleep in the spoon position with him. Sampo is a safe choice. Aso asks whether that is because Sampo is a bi. Tuija says with Sampo she can be relaxed, even sleep naked. The Duo Horrible wants to know why she can't sleep naked with them. Tuija says she just couldn't. She couldn't do it with Esa, either. But she could be relaxed sleeping next to Esa.

12:51

The Duo Horrible thinks they've been discriminated against all this time. It's borderline racism. Aso says Esa is secretly a perv: even today he left the kitchen to check out Kätlin's ass. But the two of them are openly pervs. Kätlin comes back from the diary room, chuckling at this conversation.

Pictures:
http://www.bigbrother.fi/uutinen.shtml?1000155

12:53

Tuija recalls that Aso has said women of her age have five partners too many. Tuija also reminds them that Toni has made it absolutely clear that he's not interested even if Kätlin would spread her legs in front of him. Toni says that's true - he isn't. Aso says he neither, he's been saying all this time that Kätlin is just a friend to him.

12:55

Tuija thinks Duo Horrible can't get laid too often after this.

Toni: It doesn't matter. Sony has invented the PlayStation.

Aso agrees with him. The PlayStation is enough. He hasn't seen pussy in three months so it just doesn't matter anymore. And his right hand is his best friend anyway, it always comes along without resisting at all.

Tuija: What if you break it?
Aso: Then it will be the left one.
Tuija: Is it all the same to you?
Toni: No, that one is more awkward.
Sampo: My best friend is the left one.
Esa: No comment.

12:57

Aso comes up with the idea that Tuija will be given access to the upstairs bedroom suite but only on the condition she will take Aso and Toni with her. Then they'll have to form a "hot dog". Tuija tells Aso she will put him on the bottom so she doesn't need to keep looking at his face.

13:01

Sampo wonders what's going on as they haven't had food or ingredients to make food yet. Toni thinks they might have an incoming party but he still goes to look what they got in the kitchen. Toni finds six ground-meat patties. They decide to cut them in half and fry them on a pan.

13:13

Esa comes out of the diary room. He tells Tuija he was a bit disappointed as he was expecting inverse nominations. Tuija asks whether he can tell them who he nominated. Esa hesitates for a moment, but then says Kätlin and Steffi. Tuija says she actually didn't expect him to tell about it... but he did.

13:18

Esa says they're of course interested in his reasoning. Tuija asks if Esa wants to tell about it, then. Esa says he nominated Kätlin because of some of her negative characteristics.

Esa: During the time we have spent in the house, I have noticed her tendency of not wanting to discuss any negative things.
Kätlin: Tendency? What does that mean?
Esa: That you tend not to discuss.
Kätlin: Negative things?
Esa: Yep.
Kätlin: Yeah!
Esa: In my opinion, that means it is impossible to create any deeper connection with the other person as half of all things will drop outside of the possible conversation topics.
Kätlin: Okay.
Dana: What did you say? Kätlin's negative side?
Stephania: That Kätlin can't discuss negative things.
Esa: Or doesn't want to.
Kätlin: Yeah.
Esa: Or that's how it at least seems here in the house. I don't know about the outside world. One can assume.
Kätlin: Yes, I think...
Esa: If it's the same kind of avoidance in the normal life, ... You sometimes want...
Kätlin: It depends on what we're discussing about.
Esa: Ah.
Kätlin: Or I don't know. But yeah, I usually try to... I don't know, even. I don't know. I know nothing about anything.
Esa: Yah.
Kätlin: Well if you're in a relationship, for example. Then I wouldn't. For example, at the time I was about to have a breakup. Or when I decided I want to break up with someone. I always moved that thing forward, every day. I didn't want to discuss it.
Esa: Mmm.
Kätlin: Then I was asked if everything's OK. Then I was like... I don't want... Well I had thought I'll discuss it today. But then I was like this coward. I just didn't want to. I didn't want to hurt him. And I didn't want to be hurt myself. Then I always moved it. It was easier to move it to the next day, in a way. You know, like I'm not going to talk about this right now. I'm going to talk about it tomorrow. But to my friends, them I could tell it everything. But to my partner, that was just the one person to whom I couldn't. I don't know.
Esa: Yep.
Kätlin: It's true I have that side, apparently. I haven't... I have not th... That I don't want to discuss nasty or, um, like, negative things.
Esa: (to Tuija) Well, did the answer satisfy you?

Tuija is biting her fingernails. She says Esa wouldn't have had to tell them anything. Esa agrees with her but thinks the nominations will possibly be shown on TV later today.

Then the housemates continue making some more gingerbread figures. (They found dough that was leftovers from the gingerbread house task.)

Sampo comes from the diary room and announces that scheming is still allowed but they're not allowed to discuss the things that happen in the diary room. Esa thinks that this is about his earlier reference to the last Saturday. Tuija asks whether it could be about the discussion they just had. Esa does not believe it is. Sampo says he's a bit confused: they are allowed to talk about nominations but nominations are done in the diary room. And the previous nominations are apparently off-limits. Toni thinks scheming is just something like people uniting against some other housemate in the nominations. Esa thinks talking about nominations and the reasoning behind them are all part of scheming. The information they dispense to each other about those subjects can be true or lies.

14:21

Tuija comes from the diary room and says they are allowed to talk about nominations but not about the other, personal diary room visits.

14:24

Dana would like to start making food already. One of the housemates thinks they could get something from the storage room. Dana is sure that six of them will be evicted soon. They'll just get an order to pack their things and then it's like "Bye!"

14:30

The storage room is open so the housemates finally get some ingredients for making food.

14:59

The housemates are ordered to gather on the sofa. They get mail from Big Brother.

15:04

The envelope is torn open. Sampo is reading the letter.

Wedding. There will be a wedding in the BB house on Saturday. The housemates are responsible for the arrangements. Dana starts laughing a shitty laugh.

The first task, painting the slum walls, is already done. The second task concerns preparing and practicing a performance where they will sing a song. The housemates will find the supplies they need in the storage room.

Kätlin: Whose wedding this is?!
Aso: Esa's!

Everyone starts shouting that Esa and Tuija are getting married.

Well, guess what? When Esa received his diary room call - the one that made him so emotional - his girlfriend was heard talking on the phone in the exact same way as he does... So there are two of them!

As some people have commented on this board, it's a match made in heaven.

I watched this phone conversation though I didn't understand any of it. Thanks for the video links by the way. I figured Esa is the type who would prefer his girl to be as intellectual as he is. Can we have a translation of that exchange, that was just a short one. I hope its not too much to ask hehe.

=============

Update on the weekly tasks.

HouseB won the Toy Factory task, that means HB won the weekly task.

Reward game (the house that can watch the Pacquio-Cotto fight: HA wins.... Both male and female basketball

Male Basketball
HA-21pts
HB-18pts
(Our POV MVP: Johan)

Female Basketball (minus Yuri)
HA-5pts (4pts from Cathy, 1 from Rica)
HB-1pt (from Kath).

I watched the male housemates' basketball game. Johan was soo good, the tall guy has nothing on him. He probaly did 20 points out of 21 for House A.

The female basketball game was unexpected. They played ball while still wearing their cheering outfirst. Im glad Cathy was the highest pointer on that game.

Weekly Task: 3-1 in favor HB
Reward game: HA

Anna-Banana kirjoitti: Some filipino forumers call him 'Hermes Perkele' haha!. Good old Sami, he was able to read through him even without meeting him.
I think he wasn't serious when he said that. Aso, Toni and Sami cursed Hermes in the presense of Kätlin, but it was just for humour.
