Channel 5 has confirmed that Iain Lee and Carol McGiffin have joined the presenting team of Big Brother’s Bit On The Psych for Celebrity Big Brother 2014.

Having appeared on it regularly during this summer’s series, Iain will now officially become the co-host of the spin-off show, which will continue to air on Saturday nights.

Meanwhile, former Loose Women star McGiffin – who finished fourth in the most recent series of CBB – will become its ‘head panellist’, appearing each week alongside expert guests.

This news all but confirms rumours that former BOTP frontwoman AJ Odudu has left.

McGiffin said: “When I was in the house I was a straight talker, and it will be the same on Bit On The Psych. I’m really looking forward to getting inside the housemates heads and seeing what mates them tick.”

A spokesperson for Channel 5 informed us this morning that the 25-year-old presenter ‘mutually agreed’ to her depature with show producers.

The news comes after it was announced that Iain Lee and Carol McGiffin have bagged roles on its psychology-themed sister programme Bit On The Psych, which AJ used to front.

Lee will co-host with Rylan Clark – who is returning to BOTS with Emma Willis – while Celebrity Big Brother finalist McGiffin will appear as the head panellist.

The 37-year-old sportsman – who has won five titles at the World Championships, most recently this year – has turned down big-money offers to appear in previous series of the show.

However, according to the Daily Star, he may now change his mind after seeing fellow snooker star Steve Davis on the current edition of ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

Ronnie’s girlfriend, ex-Footballers’ Wives actress Laila Rouass, is said to have urged him to take part – while he has apparently ‘admitted’ that he’d rather experience the Big Brother house than slum it in the Australian jungle.

dailystar.co.uk kirjoitti:Celebrity housemates will get Tsar treatment in Big Brother palace

CELEBRITY Big Brother’s latest lucky housemates will be treated like Russian royalty.

The smash-hit Channel 5 reality show blasts back on to our screens in the new year.

And the new gang of famous guests will be put in a house resembling a Russian palace. There will be chandeliers, a grand fireplace, plush chairs and glamorous beds.

Instead of doors there will be golden picture frames and each “Tsar” contestant will have their own regal portrait on the wall.

But, in traditional Big Brother style, not all is quite as it seems.

Bosses are planning several shocks to keep the housemates on their toes.

A show insider said: “This is not a spa holiday. The palace may look like five-star luxury when they walk in but it could become a gilded cage.”

Bosses are planning to kick off the show in spectacular style with a launch night twist that is being kept a closely-guarded secret.

tellymix.co.uk kirjoitti:Celebrity Big Brother 2014 start date confirmed for January 3

The Celebrity Big Brother 2014 start date has been confirmed for January 3.

The new series of the Channel 5 show will launch on the first Friday of the new year from 9PM.

Emma Willis will be back hosting the show despite also joining to The Voice UK, which will also air in January on BBC One.

Meanwhile, the new look CBB house has had a high class upgrade featuring chandeliers, a grand fireplace and opulent surroundings, with insiders comparing it to a ‘Russian palace’.

But despite all of its glitz glamour, is this house simply a gilded cage? The house may look inviting but once in Big Brother’s grasp, housemates will learn the hard way that Big Brother is the boss.

As usual the show will be packed full of twists and turns, starting from the get-go, with Big Brother bosses promising that Big Brother will be unleashing his biggest twist yet on launch night.

Nancy Dell’Olio is reportedly in talks to enter Celebrity Big Brother 2014.

The former Strictly Come Dancing star is apparently keen to get back at ex Sven Goran Eriksson after comments he made about her and their relationship in his autobiography.

Nancy is already set to take Sven to court over the book, alleging “breach of confidentiality” in remarks made by the former England football team manager.

According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Channel 5 could be ready to sign Nancy to enter the house next month in a deal worth £500,000.

Daily Star kirjoitti:Celebrity Big Brother set to have most controversial housemates of all time

CELEBRITY Big Brother bosses are gearing up for the bitchiest series yet when it returns this week.

“Almost all the celebs going in the house are known for being mouthy or controversial”

Producers are convinced there will be fireworks because the line-up includes a string of notoriously outspoken stars.

A show source, who has seen the top-secret list of housemates, last night told the Daily Star Sunday that fans can expect rows.

There will be two glamour girls and a trio of bitchy reality stars on the Channel 5 show, which starts on Friday.

Our insider said: “It’s a *cracking group of names.

“Almost all the celebs going in the house are known for being mouthy or controversial.

“The British reality stars they’ve signed up are used to *having rows in front of the *cameras so they won’t hold back if they’re angry with someone.

“And the American babe isn’t going to care about being unpopular.”

Our source has also promised the series will be great for blokes because four of the housemates are sexy *women.

The insider said: “One of the girls they’ve got has boasted about enjoying X-rated sex orgies in the past and regularly talks in *interviews about stripping off.

“Producers are hoping she’ll be fun and sexy in the house too.”

Show chiefs have also signed up two Fleet Street battleaxes, according to our source.

bbspy.co.uk kirjoitti:Casey, Lee, Luisa, Evander to face first CBB eviction

Casey Batchelor, Lee Ryan, Luisa Zissman and Evander Holyfield will join Dappy and Liz Jones in facing the first Celebrity Big Brother 2014 eviction after failing the latest task.

Yesterday, Jim, Linda, Sam and Jasmine all won immunity from eviction, and today the three remaining pairs had one final opportunity to secure freedom from their handcuffs.

Each pair was attached to one of three ropes in the garden that were padlocked at one end. Their challenge was to pass a key along their rope, untangling knots along the way. They then had to unlock the end of their rope, before sliding the key off and using it to remove their shackles.

All three pairs tried their best, but Ollie Locke and Lionel Blair were first to complete the task in a time of 2 minutes and 53 seconds, winning them the prize of freedom and immunity.

Lee and Casey came second on 3 minutes and 34 seconds, while Luisa and Evander took the longest time of 3 minutes and 58 seconds.

“This is Big Brother, the task is now over. Congratulations Ollie and Lionel, you are the winners,” the all-seeing eye confirmed.

“Lee and Casey, Luisa and Evander, you have failed each of the challenges giving you the chance to free yourself, and therefore will face the first public vote along with Dappy and Liz.”

A Channel 5 spokesperson has confirmed to bbspy that the housemates will face the public vote in their pairs, and that viewers will be voting to save their favourites.

bbspy.co.uk kirjoitti:Celeb BB warns Evander over homophobic comments

Celebrity Big Brother 2014 bosses have warned Evander Holyfield after the boxer told Luisa Zissman he suggested homosexuality can be cured, and compared it to being ‘handicapped’.

The pair had spent almost all their time in the house together thanks to the series launch twist, which saw the housemates being paired off and handcuffed together until further notice.

However, former Apprentice contestant Luisa became uncomfortable with Evander last night when she asked him whether there are any gay people in boxing, leading the heavyweight champion to reveal his opinions on same-sex relationships.

After Evander said he thinks they “ain’t normal”, Luisa attempted to end the conversation – which had not come to light until it was aired on Channel 5 this evening – but he proceeded to imply that homosexuality could be ‘fixed’.

The transcript of their chat, as aired in the latest highlights show, is as follows:

Luisa: Is there any gay boxers?

Evander: Yeah, I’m sure there is.

Luisa: Is it public knowledge?

Evander: Ain’t no-one came out and said they were.

Luisa: I think it’s really bad that no-one stands up and says it in the sporting industries. I think it’s good to be open about that because it’s normal.

Evander: What would be good about it? That ain’t normal.

Luisa: We shouldn’t have this conversation. No, let’s not have this conversation, it won’t be good.

Evander: The bible let’s you know, that’s wrong, that’s right.

Luisa: That’s just the way some people are.

Evander: No, it don’t make no difference. If you were born and your leg were turned this way, what do you do, you go to the doctor and get it fixed back right.

Luisa: It’s not about being fixed, it’s about… that’s just the way that you are.

Evander: No no no no no, you mean to tell me…

Luisa: I really don’t want to have this conversation.

Evander: I’m not mad, I’m just saying…

Luisa: You don’t understand, I don’t think it’s an appropriate conversation to have in this house, honestly.

Evander: All I’m trying to tell you, you know how handicapped people are born, you can’t say because they were born that way…

Luisa: You can’t compare, of course you can’t compare someone that’s gay to someone that’s handicapped, it’s not a choice.

Evander: Yes it is a choice, come on, that ain’t the way nobody is made.

Luisa: I’m tired. I don’t think people have a choice in their sexuality, or they would be unhappy.

bbspy.co.uk kirjoitti:Evander evicted as Lee, Casey return from Bolt Hole

Evander Holyfield has become the first person to be evicted from Celebrity Big Brother 2014 after the Bolt Hole twist concluded with Lee Ryan and Casey Batchelor deciding who should leave.

Since the announcement that Evander, Jasmine, Jim, Liz and Luisa had been nominated yesterday, viewers had been voting to save their favourite housemates as usual.

However, it had also been announced that the vote would not decide the final outcome, with the top three nominees being declared safe – while the bottom two would face a twist.

Tonight, it was revealed that it would be up to Lee and Casey – who were selected to enter the secret Bolt Hole on Wednesday – to decide which nominee would get the boot.

During the live show, host Emma Willis crossed to the house to announce who was safe. Jasmine and Jim were given the all-clear first, before Liz was handed a reprieve in a surprise result, with bookies having predicted that it would be her and Evander in the firing line.

This left the boxer and Luisa in the danger zone – and in her final link-up, Emma told the group: “However, the final decision about who is evicted does not rest with the public. It rests of the hands of two of your fellow housemates.”

Big Brother subsequently played a VT of Lee and Casey’s time in the Bolt Hole, much to the surprise of its viewers. The plasma screen then cut to the Diary Room, where the pair were waiting to be given the all-clear to return to the main house.

“Before you return, Big Brother has got a big decision for you,” announced the all-seeing eye. “Tonight, the two housemates with the fewest votes and facing eviction are Evander and Luisa, and who goes, you will now decide.”

“That’s out of order. That’s not fair Big Brother,” moaned Lee.

They were given 30 seconds to make their choice, with Lee reasoning: “I’m saying Evander because Luisa’s my friend. Luisa’s a friend of mine, I’ve gotta be… do you understand that?”

“I think Luisa’s a nice girl. We’ll stay with Luisa,” agreed Casey.

Lee then confirmed that they had decided to evict Evander, saying: “I know the public are gonna hate us, but she’s my friend, what am I supposed to do? I feel bad, but it’s gotta be someone.”

“I think personally we’ve both got closer to Luisa than we have Evander anyway. I’ve not really got to know Evander that well and neither have you,” added Casey.

Lee and Casey were then allowed to return to the house, while an unimpressed-looking Evander was given a few moments to departure.

bbspy.co.uk kirjoitti:Exclusive: Celebrity Big Brother 2014 to be extended

Channel 5 is planning to extend Celebrity Big Brother 2014 beyond its currently scheduled end date, bbspy has learned.

Last week the broadcaster announced that the series would come to an end after 22 days on Friday January 24th, with Emma Willis crowning the winner in a 90-minute live show.

However, insiders have told bbspy tonight that bosses are planning a four-day extension, which would see it end on Tuesday January 28th.

This is due to ratings success, with the first week of the current series having averaged 2.48million viewers in overnight ratings – up around 190,000 on last January’s edition.

Critics have also praised it, with The Mirror’s Ian Hyland writing: “I’m not prone to exaggeration but… This is the best first few days of CBB ever.”

bbspy.co.uk kirjoitti:Housemates rumble Jim, fail Democracy task

The Celebrity Big Brother 2014 housemates have failed the Democracy shopping task for correctly guessing that Jim Davidson was the ‘Decider’.

Yesterday, Big Brother set up keypads in the living area and told housemates that they’d win luxury food by anonymously voting on a series of dilemmas – and abiding by the outcomes.

However, all of the housemates’ keypads were disabled, except Jim’s – meaning he was the only housemate whose votes counted. He had to keep his role in the task secret, otherwise the group would fail and receive basic rations.

On the first day, Linda was covered in paint and forced to watch it dry after the comedian named her the most boring housemate – going against the majority, who chose Liz. He also voted to give up beauty products, when most of the others would have preferred to surrender cigarettes.

But he also joined the majority in picking Lee to be tricked in to thinking he’d been put up for eviction – as well as opting for a Thai takeaway over a pizza delivery.

Later, Jim decided that Lionel and Luisa would spend the night in ‘The Most Annoying Room In The World’, a space full of slanted furniture and constantly ringing alarm clocks – as well as a luxury bed, champagne and chocolates locked in a cage.

The pair managed to retrieve the key to unlock the cage, but it was attached to a chain that was too short to reach the lock. Luisa then decided to take matters in to her own hands by climbing over the jail bars to retrieve the treats – a move that earned her a ticking off from Big Brother.

Today, three more dilemmas were set, with the group unanimously voting for a lie-in this morning – before Jim singled out Luisa for a spell in jail.

The final vote was the most important of all, as it saw Big Brother reveal the big twist. With all housemates’ keypads now on, they were asked to vote for who they thought was the Decider.

After the time was up, Big Brother announced that the majority had correctly gone for Jim.

bbspy.co.uk kirjoitti:Celeb BB lies to housemates ahead of ‘secret’ eviction

The remaining Celebrity Big Brother 2014 housemates have been told that they’ve made it to the final – even though there will be another ‘secret’ eviction on Sunday.

During last night’s live show, after Linda Nolan became the fifth person to leave, presenter Emma Willis crossed over to the house to inform the group of the false news.

“Lee, Luisa, Casey, Dappy, Jim, Ollie, Sam, you have all made it to the Celebrity Big Brother final,” she announced. “Congratulations housemates and have a great evening.”

The elated celebrities clapped and cheered, with Ollie, Dappy and Lee jumping up and down – while the Blue singer even ran over a sofa.

However, after calming down some of them begun to suspect that there’s a twist in store, as there is an unusually high number of housemates left in the running.

“So we’ve got seven people in the f***ing final? Seven?” asked Dappy.

“No I’m telling you, it’ll be a surprise eviction on Monday,” predicted Casey. “Because now the public are voting for who they want to win, so on Monday, the two least will go, then the rest will go on Wednesday.”

Remaining optimistic, Ollie replied: “They said you’ve made it through to the final, otherwise it’d be the semi-final.”

As Casey said, the final phone lines are now open, with viewers able to vote for who they want to be crowned the winner.

bbspy.co.uk kirjoitti:Celeb BB eviction results: Linda Nolan fifth out

Linda Nolan has lost her battle for public support against Jim Davidson, with Celebrity Big Brother 2014 viewers opting to send the singer packing in the fifth eviction of the series.

Jim was saved during a voting freeze alongside Ollie Locke after they received the most votes to save, with Lee Ryan and Luisa Zissman also escaping the axe at the final announcement.

Linda – who was the bookies’ favourite to get the axe – left the house to a chorus of boos from the crowd. It was the first time she had faced the viewer vote.

Addressing the reception in her interview with host Emma Willis, the 54-year-old said: “I haven’t been up for eviction so I can only go on what the housemates think of me. I’ve been lucky that the housemates haven’t put me up for nomination otherwise I might have gone first.”

Even though she vowed that she ‘didn’t want to spend her whole interview talking about Jim Davidson’, Linda’s well-documented feud with the former Big Break host – which originated in a personal incident years before the show – was the main topic of discussion.

“I stand by everything I did in that house, I’m not sure what the public saw – we were filmed for 24 hours and you see 46 minutes. I can only stand by my own feelings, I was true to myself, I was honest,” she said.

“Jim and I were both fine until Jim had a little drink one night, then he became what I said he is. I think Jim is a gameplayer. He says one thing to your face and then you hear he’s slagging you behind your back, which he did with all of us. As I said, the housemates never put me up until today, but Jim was up every week and that’s what the housemates think of him.”

The ‘I’m In The Mood For Dancing’ singer then addressed the spat that ensued after Jim prompted Luisa to ask her what happened in Frank Carson’s dressing room, referring to an incident in which Linda’s late husband Brian Hudson was caught stealing from Carson.

Asking Emma how she’d have reacted in an argument over her spouse, McBusted singer Matt Willis, Linda said: “If that happened with your husband, would you stand up for him? Would you stand up for Matt if he did that, as he wasn’t there to defend himself?

“Jim went to a really low place when we had our argument. He stepped over the mark, he brought my husband in to an argument and my husband is dead. You can’t go back from that.

“Sometimes sorry isn’t good enough, sometimes it’s too late. I decided then that the reason I got upset and started doing silly things was because Jim reminded me how much I miss my husband. I didn’t have 4, 5 husbands and get divorced, I lost my husband, he was taken away from me. Jim went below the belt and that’s what the problem was.”
