Hi, LOBENGULA. Yes, the sauna+snow thing is actually true.
"Oliks sadan tonnin polkasu, oliks?"
Re: Big Brother House Swap: Finland - Africa
Yea it's true, but it's not like we do it always at winter when we go to sauna (try to figure someone running outside naked and rolling on the snow at middle of city)LOBENGULA kirjoitti:i hear its Finish tradition that after the sauna, people run into the snow naked

Re: Big Brother House Swap: Finland - Africa
Unfortunately there is no snow on the ground yet. He should have come in mid-winter, lots of snow and -20 degrees C temperatures then
Re: Big Brother House Swap: Finland - Africa
But if you have chance, on summer cottage or so (country side), it's fun! And after that you'll feel soooo good!Tomi- kirjoitti:Yea it's true, but it's not like we do it always at winter when we go to sauna (try to figure someone running outside naked and rolling on the snow at middle of city)LOBENGULA kirjoitti:i hear its Finish tradition that after the sauna, people run into the snow naked

Now Munya have experienced the "shrinker", pool with ice cold water in it and actual ice..
I guess that is simulator for our "avanto", a big hole in frozen lake.
That is actualy quite samething as rolling on snow, maybe even bit colder thing..

so he hed to run around the house naked
Re: Big Brother House Swap: Finland - Africa
Interesting fact (?) about the Finnish peacekeepers for UN around the world, they always have a "portable" sauna with them. There is a myth that the first thing they do when they reach their base is to put up the sauna. No matter how hot the country is, we need a sauna that is even hotter.
Icy water feels MUCH colder than rolling in the snow.^R_R^ kirjoitti:That is actualy quite samething as rolling on snow, maybe even bit colder thing..
Re: Big Brother House Swap: Finland - Africa
Yeah, that must be true, but it is so long from the last time i have been rolling in snow,Punde kirjoitti: Icy water feels MUCH colder than rolling in the snow.
so I can only tell how cold water is..
And it is freaking cold!!

Well it is hard to describe, but if the weather is cold enough, first thing you feel is your "breath goes away"
(don't remember the real terms) and after you jump int the snow it feels like million tiny knives on your skin (but it feels good )
and after you go back to sauna it keeps tingling as long as you are warmed again..
I hope you understood even something from this
